Co-founded and led by Tom Abbotts, former Midlands Regional Champion and seasoned instructor, our academy is purpose-built and fully equipped to provide top-quality training in a safe, professional, and friendly environment.
We specialise in Mixed Martial Arts, helping students of all ages and abilities develop confidence, discipline, fitness, and practical skills. Tom Abbotts
Co-Owner & Lead Instructor
Tom Abbotts has dedicated his life to MMA and Thai Boxing, bringing over 10 years of coaching experience to the K-Star team. He began his journey with the academy in 2016 at K-Star Perry Barr as an assistant instructor, quickly progressing thanks to his passion, work ethic, and deep understanding of the sport. A former Midlands Regional Champion, Tom has competed extensively himself and uses that first-hand experience to shape his coaching style.
In 2021, Tom became co-owner and Lead Instructor of K-Star MMA Aldridge, where he now leads the academy with a strong focus on discipline, development, and community. Over the years, he has trained multiple regional and national champions, guiding athletes from amateur level all the way to the professional stage. Tom’s goal is simple... to help every student become the strongest, most confident version of themselves.
About Steve Logan
Co-Owner & K-Star Founder
Steve Logan is the driving force behind the K-Star brand and a true legend in the UK martial arts scene. With over 30 years of experience, Steve began teaching Muay Thai back in 1989, running the very first K-Star classes from a community centre in Kingstanding, and some of those original students still train today.
After a successful competitive career that included winning the BTBC Midland area title, Steve opened the first full-time K-Star Thai Boxing Academy in Perry Barr in 1993, laying the foundation for one of the UK’s most respected Muay Thai and MMA organisations.
Under his leadership, K-Star has grown into multiple full-time academies across the Midlands, producing countless skilled fighters and passionate students. Steve’s vision, knowledge, and commitment to authentic martial arts training continue to shape K-Star’s culture and success, including right here in Aldridge alongside co-owner Tom Abbotts.
